The new managing partner of Simmons & Simmons has said the top City law firm is sticking to its guns on diversity, despite a backlash that has swept across the global legal sector.

US president Donald Trump has targeted leading American law firms because of their diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. That has led to a string of firms striking deals to head off US government action.
